Help Protect Our Libraries!

The basics of our campaign:

  • Travis and Johnathan will provide common sense guidance to our libraries, in-line with the First Amendment, the Idaho Constitution, Idaho’s Open Meeting Laws, and other Idaho laws.

  • Our opponents claim that they do not support book bans. Actions speak louder than words.

    • In April 2014, one of our opponents testified in favor of removing a book from the West Ada Library’s reading list. That book was, in fact, removed. In September 2014, it was placed back on the reading list.

    • In 2023, our opponents’ treasurer, a current Ada County Library Board member attempted to remove six books from the shelves of the Ada Library. That action failed only because it was done without following Idaho’s Open Meeting Laws. The vote was illegally conducted as it was done without notice to the community.

    • In 2025, that treasurer and his family donated almost $12,000 to their campaigns. That is an incredible amount of money in a library race. For example, in 2023, only 4,645 people cast a ballot.

    • During the April 2025 Ada County GOP Central Committee meeting, an opponent stated, “there will be no wokeisms like CRT and Transgenderism in the libraries” if they are elected. Of course, that opponent has never explained what, precisely, that means. Buzzwords mean nothing when constitutional rights and the good of the community are involved.

  • Johnathan and Travis are dedicated to outworking their opponents to ensure that the election does not come down to one board member outspending the rest of Ada County. They and their team have knocked thousands of doors, attended public forums and events, agreed to interviews with staff and social media folks, and have made themselves available to the public.

    • Our opponents decided that attending a candidate forum was not in their campaign plan. Only one of our opponents interviewed with BoiseDev.

  • Johnathan and Travis will continue to be in the community when they are elected, working to ensure that our libraries and our librarians function well and connecting our voters with those resources they need.

  • Vote for the candidates who have been in our libraries, been in our communities, and will hold themselves accountable to the community. Vote for Johnathan Baldauf and Travis Worwood.
